CM Punk Suffers Torn Triceps
A torn triceps will not stop CM Punk from fighting, but the injury has made it difficult for him to retain his title in the ring. He would have likely vacated the AEW World championship title, but Tony Khan decided against it and announced a new tournament to crown a new champion. This is unfortunate news for Punk.
CM Punk torn triceps
A torn triceps is an extremely serious injury that requires months of rehab. CM Punk suffered this injury during a match against Jon Moxley at All Out this past Sunday. The injury occurred while Punk was going for a tope in the match’s opening. Although he was able to finish the match as scheduled, the recovery time will be long. CM Punk will probably be out of AEW for about eight months.
AEW President Tony Khan announced on Tuesday night that CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Title would be vacated, but he did not mention the fight. That means that AEW is still investigating the incident. If Punk’s title is vacated, there are likely to be legal ramifications for the promotion. They would have to find another way to crown a champion.
CM Punk’s future with AEW
CM Punk is currently battling for his future with AEW after suffering an injury during the All Out main event. The extent of the injury was not released, but it is possible that CM Punk will have to undergo surgery to repair his torn triceps. The action could put the former WWE superstar on the shelf for a year. AEW is reportedly considering replacing him with another star.
The AEW organization has not commented on the situation, but Punk has previously been vocal about his opposition to working conditions in sports and entertainment. He was in the same faction as Cabana on TV, so it’s assumed that they are good friends in real life. Cabana is currently working at Ring of Honor, another promotion owned by Khan.
CM Punk’s post-show media scrum
The post-show media scrum of CM Punk on Sunday night is revealing. The WWE star aired his dirty laundry and talked about the tension backstage. While he didn’t mention Colt Cabana, he did discuss his friendship with the wrestler. CM Punk said that Cabana’s lawsuit came after their friendship ended. He also said that Vince McMahon and Scott Colton were the biggest beneficiaries of their friendship.
CM Punk’s post-show scrum contradicts his previous comments about his character and the respect veterans deserve. In addition, he took a stance against the AEW organization and its lack of respect for veteran wrestlers. He said he didn’t need advice from AEW before his All Out PPV.
CM Punk’s foot injury
CM Punk is recovering from a foot injury. The former AEW World Champion revealed the injury in a press scrum after AEW All Out. He said it was a foot break that required surgery. CM Punk is unable to wrestle until he heals. There is no timetable for when he will return. However, he is hopeful he will be able to return in the future.
The injury occurred during a walk into the ring on Saturday, and it was a serious one. The injury aggravated when CM Punk started to wrestle in the ring. The match ended prematurely and an interim title was created. Moxley won the interim title.
At start of Wednesday’s Dynamite, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan did not make any reference the fight, nor mention if anyone was suspended. Khan vacated the World Title and Trios titles. Omega and the Bucks had won the new Trios titles on Sunday. A match between Death Triangle (PAC and Luchas Bros) vs. Best Friends and Orange Cassidy was held on Wednesday to determine new champions. Death Triangle defeated Best Friends and Cassidy to become the new Trios World Champions.
